| Fast-moving and carnivorous centipedes
use the venom from glands located on their
first set of legs to kill prey. Even
though the name means literally "one-hundred legs",
not all centipedes have one-hundred legs. Fortunately
for a centipede when it loses a leg,
it will soon regenerate. Interestingly,
they also breathe through spiracles, which are
holes positioned along their body and not through
their mouth. |
