The largest of the grasshopper species
with its remarkable leaf-like wings that serves
as camouflage in a world full of predators. When
the camouflage fails to work,
a grasshoppers can still leap 20 times the length
of its own body to aid in its escape. Amazingly,
the peak acceleration force during take-off of
a grasshopper jump approaches 20 G's, the same
g-force would invariably squash
a human.
