The Golden-winged Skimmer (Libellula auripennis) is a bright orangish dragon of the southeast U.S. ranging west to the prairies.This dragonfly has wings that often have bands or spots, brightly colored bodies with a shorter wingspan and a larval habitat of ponds, creeks, and coastal plains. You will find Them perched on weed tips at water's edge resting with their wings slowly moving inbetween flights.
