| With a bright green body
and soft pink wings, most female stick nymph insects
have a thorax that can shoot out a milky, smelly,
corrosive liquid against predators - or any perceived
threat for that matter. This comes in handy because
nymphs move too slow to defend themselves in other
ways. This defense may also be followed by a
hissing noise and a dramatic raising and lowering
of its tail to make itself look more aggressive
against lizards, birds, spiders, and enumerable
other predators. |
