| Large, green, wide and bulky adult green nymph
female stick insects can weigh up to seventy grams
when full of eggs. Females are pale pink and bright
green colors, and they can measure up to seven
inches in length. Female nymphs have small
wings, but are still incapable of flight. They
also have large spurs on the inside of their thighs
which can give a nasty pinch, sometimes drawing
blood, so care must be taken when handling them.
Nymph females lay anywhere from 90 to 200 eggs,
and then quietly die. |
