Very few dragonflies are as small as the Little
Blue Dragonlet (Erythrodiplax minuscula) its habitat
and range is the Southeastern U.S.(ranging north
to Maine) where it can be found at vegetated ponds
and backwaters. The little Blue Dragonfly is much
smaller than the similar Blue Dasher which has
a white face and the Seaside Dragonlet which is
a bit larger and darker and does not show the
distinct contrast of blue and black on the abdomen.
Very iridescent facial colors. This little blue
dragonfly could be mistaken for the male Pondhawk
except it is half the size. Just barely an inch
long the Little Blue Dragonlet often hides or
perches down in the grasses and low plants near
water. These guys are often fodder for larger
dragons and for the voraciously omnivorous Pondhawk.
Nature has created this magnificent insect and
now throw technology we have created a realistic
robotic electronic Little Blue Dragonfly single
complete kit perfect for your display. Live natural
Dragonflies that normally inhabit ponds and streams
have been mimicked electronically specifically
for decorative use in the home or office where
they will repeatedly flap their wings to the amazement
of your family and friends. No batteries are needed,
unless you desire a battery pack - sold separately.
Just plug them in and enjoy the simulation!
