| Each of a
Tarantulas eight hairy legs has two tiny retractable
claws, like a cat's claw, at each end with a cushioning
pad behind each claw. Hairs on the body of a
typical Tarantula are sensitive to touch, temperature
and smell. As a defense mechanism, like
when their prey is struggling at close range,
a Tarantula can shed some of their fine hairs which
then become easily embedded into the body of their
prey and make them itch like crazy! |
