Widow skimmers are quite common near the edges
of ponds. They are thick bodied, as are most skimmers,
and have a broad band of dark color at the base
of their wings. The brightly colored and unique
pattern on the wings of the Widow Skimmer makes
a nice contrast to the green and blue colors of
the Eastern Pondhawk. In nature you will find several
different species of dragonflies living in the
same habitat co-existing together. When you are
ready to set up your display choose a location
where the dragonflies will best catch the attention
of people in the room. Dragonflies make a wonderful
centerpiece and will be the topic of conversation
because they just look so damn realistic with their
wings moving! With two sets and a total of four
moving dragonflies you can space them several feet
apart or close together for the best visual effect.
If you would like a different dragonfly combination
or perhaps a butterfly species of your choice instead,
please don't hesitate to call us to place your
unique order.
