Yellow,
Orange and Gold Dragonflies |
 |
|
If you have already purchased one of our electronic
moving dragonflies, butterflies, moths or fairies as complete
kits you can string along an additional two moving dragonflies
with our 2 Add-on Kit. The "Y" plug which comes
with an Add-on Kit makes it possible to connect additional
butterflies and/or dragonflies to one you may already
have. Add-ons allow your units to move independently,
creating even more life-like movements. Connecting two
or more add-ons to an adapter will allow your animated
insects to beautifully expand their butterfly and dragonfly
wings in turn. Bring a touch of nature indoors! Create
your own unique display with a yellow, orange and gold
dragonfly know as the Widow Skimmer. This dragon has a
very distinctive wing pattern and combined with other
Widow Skimmers it will look like your home has been invaded
dragonflies!
Live Widow Skimmer dragonflies look very much
like their relatives the damselflies, however,
there are obvious differences which make it easy
to tell them apart. Both possess two sets of wings,
but at rest, a dragonfly holds its wings straight
out to its side, while most damselflies fold
their wings all the way back. Dragonflies and damselflies
are insects of the Odonata Order. They are some
of the more noticeable insects, especially around
bodies of water they call home. Their
amazing aerial capabilities and superb sense of
sight make them fascinating creatures to watch.
Having taken wing from earth's primordial swamps
some 300 million years ago, dragonflies are among
our oldest living creatures. Although dragonflies
of today are considerably smaller than their 18-inch
ancestors in many ways these insects remain unchanged.
We have made a considered effort to make our electronic,
robotic dragonflies, butterflies and moths as realistic
and close to the real insect as possible. They
are powered by a wire "muscle" in the
dragonfly body that makes the wings flap and will
last for years! Widow
Skimmers are great for any special occasion and
make very unique gifts. |
